AGility Innovations Leveraging Electronics (AGILE)
The goal of this AKC Canine Health Foundation funded study is to develop a canine-wearable system to recognize agility activity so that we can measure canine training workload, speed, fatigue and other parameters to optimize performance, to evaluate the relation of training parameters and injury risk, and to study injury prevention strategies.
The AGILE canine-wearable system recognizes agility-related activities and transmits real-time data through a companion mobile app. The mobile app collects and visualizes data from the smart collar, providing insights into activity patterns, performance, and potential injury risks. With these insights, dog handlers can implement more informed, targeted strategies to help prevent injuries. Beyond tracking agility performance, AGILE also offers a comprehensive overview of each dog’s health by monitoring key metrics such as weight, diet, and daily activity—empowering handlers to take a holistic approach to their dogs’ well-being.
