Our Mission
At the Canine Sports Science Consortium, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of knowledge in canine sports medicine and enhancing the performance of our canine companions. With a deep commitment to conducting cutting-edge research and offering educational resources, we aim to create a community where every dog owner can nurture their pet’s potential in sports and fitness. Together, we strive to enhance the well-being and capabilities of every canine athlete.
Our goal is to develop a canine-wearable system to recognize agility activity so that we can measure canine training workload, speed, fatigue and other parameters to optimize performance, to evaluate the relation of training parameters and injury risk, and to study injury prevention strategies.
This initiative is designed to provide the first worldwide collection of evidential data to aid organizations in understanding the associated risks with the sport of dog agility in its various formats. The start point for this first research project of its type is to collect data on contact obstacle performance namely, the A-Frame, Dog Walk and Teeter / See Saw.
The aim of this ACVSMR residency project is to code data from videos of dog walk falls in order to determine commonalities and potential risk factors for falls. This project is still accepting videos. Please contact us for more information on how to participate.
